The Light Bulb Moment

It occurred to me recently, you know, that "light-bulb" moment?  Now that we are all pretty much in the same boat, i.e., staying home, social distancing, washing our hands often, and just using common sense.
I don't know when I was totally aware, that we allow ourselves to be, what I call is, "crazy busy."  So I'm hearing from several people that staying at home, with "nothing to do", is driving them crazy.  Is it because we have packed our schedules so tight with our own appointments, and everyone else in our families?  And make sure our kids are involved in "everything" they can possibly be involved in.
Several years ago, I was just as guilty.  I had to start writing in the margins of my calendar because there was no room left on that little line....Then I heard myself complain about how tired I was.
The past few weeks have been atypical for most of us.  Who, of us is used to sitting quietly for hours?  You can only clean the house, do the laundry, grocery shop, cook meals, and clean the kitchen, and then you start over.  But wait, I have two or three hours in between each task.  Something is definitely WRONG! Isn't that what I have been complaining about, being tired, and needing a few more hours added to each day? Hmmmmm, be careful what you pray for.
The Bible does not tell us to be so busy you wear yourself out.  What it does tell us is to slow down. "Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth"(Psalm 46:10, NIV).  He also reminds us to ask for forgiveness.  The Bible also tells us, "...who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases...(Psalm 103:3, NIV).
Continue with the directives we have been living with for the past few weeks.  But, now that we have an opportunity to slow down, take advantage of it.
Stand strong, and stay healthy!
