This time of year, especially, we in Florida pay close attention to the weather. I don't mean to say I'm obsessed with it, but I do listen and take heed.
I'm sometimes confused between "watch and warning", though.
I was thinking the other day how great it would be if we had the same type of Doppler warning in our lives. Well, maybe not. I'm not sure I want to know when the next hurricane is blowing through my life. Right at the moment, I'm between tornado's. Things are calm, right now.
As a child we aren't afraid of falling down the stairs. We've never fallen down the stairs. But in order to "grow and get stronger (and smarter)" at some point we need to "fall down the stairs."
For when I am weak, then I am strong. The Lord reminds me to lean on him during the storms in my life. No matter what's going on. I will never leave nor forsake you.
Exodus 19:4 You have seen what I did to the Egyptians and how I bore you on eagles wings and brought you to Myself.
No matter the size of the storm, there is always hope.
Genesis 9:13 I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.

I'm trying to imagine what it would be like. I don't like wind storms, so I'm guessing I wouldn't like a tornado. >g< Good guess, huh? It takes faith to overcome that kind of fear. For instance I'm afraid of heights. When we were in Jamaica for Cory's wedding I went ziplining. I was so proud of myself because I was terrified and did it anyway. I'm still afraid of heights though. LOL
This was very thought provoking!!! I'd love to sit and talk about this over a cup of coffee for a few hours!!! We need to trust the Lord during our storms....easier said than done, right!
I'm afraid of lightening. So for me to be outside when there's a storm ....well just let me say, little old ladies don't get in my way.
What is ziplining? I'm afraid of heights too....
Deb, Your comment posted twice, so I deleted one of them.
Anyway, I would love to sit and chat---let me know when.
When you are strong, and used to "handling everything yourself", trust and surrender is difficult. But not impossible. I remind myself everyday...I'm not in charge, I'm not in control, HE is....
Easier said than done..... you are so right my friend.
Well, Katt - we hafta get 2 houses ready for Irene - too bad the houses are 260 miles apart. Wednesday will be busy - mixed in with a long drive north. Coulda done without this upcoming mess. Guess that's the one drawback of living at the beach. Be safe.
Dave,
Do you want us to "take care" of ONE of your beach houses? It would be a sacrifice but we could do it! :D
Seriously, I'm praying she moves right on out into the ocean----
