A phone call to the doctors office a few days ago went something like this:
Me: Hi, I have a problem and I need to make an appointment with the doctor.
Receptionist: She isn't here today. She's only in this office on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Me: Good, could I make an appointment for tomorrow?
Receptionist: No, you have to call back tomorrow.
Me: Are you kidding?
Receptionist: No, thanks for calling, dial tone......
Hmmmm. I guess she wasn't kidding. Not only did I not get an appointment, but I felt disappointment at not getting anywhere.
A few months ago my doctor ordered blood work. I received a bill from the lab for over $1,200. I couldn't believe it. I called the doctors office wondering what the results were. The receptionist told me "if no one called you, then everything is okay." She must be clairvoyant---she knows someone looked at the results. A week after that, my doctor sent me to a specialist. I'm still waiting to hear the results from those tests that I would hear from the "next day".
I'm not sure what's going on in each of these doctors offices, they must be busy and over worked.
It occurred to me how blessed I am to get answers from the Lord. When I pray, He never puts me on hold. He never puts my "test results" in a pile on His desk. He is my constant companion.
2 Corinthians 12:10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Oy have you opened a can of worms. But I'm not going to complain because I know I am very lucky to live in N/A where there is medical health care. One has only to watch the overseas news to see how lucky I am. Still, I'm grinding my teeth. Hmm. I think that's because I feel your frustration. Makes you wonder why they even bother having receptionists, eh?
Hope you get your results back soon confirming that you're in excellent health. Yay!
"...if no one called you, then everything is okay." Oh great, but what if the phones have been out?
Yeah - I went to see the Doc in June. I mentioned that my grandkids were visiting the week of July 4th.
"So", says me,"Whaddya think's wrong with me?"
Doc: "Well, why don't we talk later, after you enjoy some time with your grandkids."
Yup. Then I get a 2 page blood test report a week later - everything's highlighted in yellow! What? I got jaundice?
Oh well, I didn't go back. Figure I'll wait 'til next June, tell 'im the grandkids are comin' again & he can keep me in the dark for another year. Hah! Better to croak on my own terms anyway.
My Doc's name? Dr Butcher. True.
Thanks Joy-----I'm sure I am! Nobody called :D
Dave,
There's only one thing I can think of that makes me laugh harder----"Are You Kidding?" Dr. Butcher!!!! Ha ha
In that case, I would really be glad he didn't call.
We'll talk later, after you enjoy time with your grandkids???? Are You Kidding!
We should be writing together! Ha ha
