HAPPY THANKSGIVING

One of my friends and I were sharing the things we are thankful for this week.
It occurred to me that if you have a job and a roof over your head, food on the table we are truly blessed. However, if none of those things are going on in your life it's not such a happy time.
We are living in a hurting world. People are reaching out to each other for support or help. One question I'm hearing a lot is, "do you know anyone who is hiring?" Some of the people asking are young college graduates. Others are older people with vast experience.
One friend said recently "I know I have lots to be thankful for, but it's hard when you're alone."
Another friend called to wish us a Happy Thanksgiving and also to share her plans. She's surprising her parents, actually her entire family by joining them for Thanksgiving. None of them has any idea what she's planning. I can only imagine the surprise look on everyone's face when she walks through the door on Thanksgiving morning.
That could be a mother's prayer....that all her children be gathered around the table this Thanksgiving.
I can only imagine the look on my own Mother's face. I plan to join her one day for Thanksgiving. I don't know if there will be tears, but I'm sure there will be lots of hugs.
My prayer for you this Thanksgiving is no matter where you are you will find peace in your heart and joy on your lips.
As for me, another thing I'm thankful for is that I'm not a turkey.

Your post is a good reminder that we too often take the comforts of our lives for granted. There are many people who have little security right now. I hope they have someone to offer compassion and a helping hand along with the reminder that no matter the circumstances, God's love is constant.

I'm sure your mother will be thrilled with the visit. Wishing you and all your family a joy-filled Thanksgiving, Katt.

Joy,
We did have a Happy Thanksgiving....even though I ate more than I should have.

Carol,
Our pastor reminded us how blessed we will feel when we remember to serve others. Isn't that the truth!
