SAFE IN GOD'S ARMS

In Florida when the weather is the news we all pay attention. The past few days, most of the regular programing has been interrupted by tornado watches or warnings. It took a long time for me to know the difference. Maybe living in Florida is the reason.
I'm praying for the family of the mother who held her child clutched in her arms so tight during the high winds that destroyed her mobile home. After the storm her home was reduced to rubble. Friends and family found 32 year old Heather Town some 200 feet from her home in a near-by woods. Heather was pronounced dead at the scene by responding EMS workers. Her three year old daughter was still in her arms. The child received injuries, including broken ribs, but is alive because of her mothers valiant act of bravery.
Many of us have been praying for rain due to the drought. My grandmother used to tell me, "be careful what you pray for."
I'm praying this morning for Heather's family.
Heather Town, you are a hero to me. Be safe in God's arms.

This is such a tragic story. Many will question how could there be a God in the midst of this tragedy? But for those of us who know God and what His Son, did for us, are grateful the baby survived. This child's mom has left a wonderful legacy of being heroic. Life is fragile and in times of tragedy, which we are warned will happen, I am glad to know our God is the God of comfort!

Deb,
You are so right...But for those of us who know God and what His Son, did for us, are grateful the baby survived.
We can't question why the precious Mother didn't survive......just be thankful that the baby did. My heart aches for her family. But I know they are feeling a tremendous pride in what she did.

Oh, Katt, what a sad story!

Like you, I immediately thought of what Jesus did for us.
