It's a Virus

I stepped away from my computer for about fifteen minutes. When I came back into the office I watched in horror as the virus that was attacking my computer said it was fixing the problem.  Fifteen minutes was long enough to destroy most of the hard drive.
No computer to a writer is like no golf clubs to a golfer or no truck to a semi-driver.
Am I frustrated? Kinda of. However, I'm thinking this is just another way the Lord plans to use my time.
Today we (The Lord and I) will be spending lots of time together.
I had so many things on my "to do" list today that won't get done. It's only a temporary "shut down".
Things will be back to normal tomorrow, or maybe the next day. We'll see how things work out.

A computer virus? Ackkk!!! How frustrating! The Mac computers seldom attract attention from those who write and pass along such destructive programs, so I haven't experienced one. But even things like a hard drive failure can be a disaster, especially for writers. It's never fun to lose access to our words. I hope you had important things backed up and will soon be up and running again.

Like getting a physical virus, sometimes these unexpected inconveniences provide enforced down time and opportunities to experience things differently. May you be blessed by your extra time with the Lord. :)

I do have an off site backup----but as you know it's really inconvenient. I think it will be two more days....maybe I'll ride my bike! "D

I don't miss those virus either since I bought my mac back in 2008. I did get a profile Trojan one time that messed things up for me. Came in through Skype. Still, anything that shuts down the computer is frustrating. Good time to reflect on how wonderful life is, for sure.

Thanks Joy. Thankfully the wonderful man I took my computer to was able to restore everything. I did not lose one document! I have been getting ready for a three day retreat, and another speaking engagement. I thought "all was lost". Whew..........
