Oswald Chambers wrote "If you are going to be used by God, He will take you through a multitude of experiences that are not meant for you at all, they are meant to make you useful in His hands, and to enable you to understand what transpires in other souls so that you will never be surprised at what you come across."
People say to me all the time, actually over the years, "why has this happened to me?"
I don't always understand Oswald Chambers. In fact at times I have to re-read what he has written to let it soak in. I think this message is one of those.
As I thought about it, I could relate to a few things in my own life. God has been "preparing" me for so many years.
When He calls us to do something, and we feel unqualified, I always hesitate to say that.  I'm always afraid He's going to qualify   me.
What kind of experiences have you had in your life?
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future says the Lord.

I am getting up there in years so God has used many things in my life to prepare me for what He has for me to do. I have gone through an abusive marriage. Raising four children alone. A child in a life threatening illness. The loss of my parents, the loss of a child. There have been many more things I have gone through but I know beyond a shadow of doubt that God has gone through each of them with me and has given me the ability to keep going. He has allowed me to touch the lives of countless others that I am able to minister too. God is good and His mercy endures forever.
