SHOULD I BRING MY WIFE

Many years ago when I worked in customer service, and spoke on the phone for eight plus hours a day, the last thing I wanted to do when I got home was get back on the phone. So when my friends would say, "call me", that usually didn't happen. I was so happy when email evolved. In fact, my friends who don't have email, yes there are a few, I don't do a very good job of keeping up.
When my friends started talking about texting, I remember thinking, I'm already as technical as I want to be, no texting for me. Well, times change, and I realized I needed to keep up or get left behind.
After a year or so, my husband's old phone needed updating. I got the brilliant idea to give him my old phone and get a new one myself. Advancing another step, I was telling myself.
My husband loves texting me. I get two or three from him everyday---sometimes when he is only one room away, telling me he's cold or needs a drink of water.
I supposed because we are together a lot, and because we write notes to each other or text each other, our text messages have been reduced to a lot of short-hand.
A few days ago, I decided to surprise him. I didn't think he had plans for lunch after his round of golf, so I sent him a text. It read something like this.
"Showered, smell great, love you bunches, wanna do lunch?"
I was surprised when I didn't hear from him right away.
What I got was a text that said:
"Didn't know you were dirty, never noticed a smell, would love lunch, should I bring my wife?"
Oh my goodness.
Note to self, when I'm texting my husband, make sure no one else is trying to send me a text. Better still read the name to make sure you are texting your own husband.

Lordy, Katt, you have all the fun, I swear. It's a wonder you don't get yourself in more trouble. LOL
