Inspiration or Distraction

Recently while sitting outside reading a book, and willing myself to stop working for a while, this little butterfly came for a visit. As I sat watching this little guy flit from flower to flower I rested my head, and closed my eyes for a moment. Imagining what that would feel like, springing from one flower to the next. Not a care in  the world. Well, maybe a few. Maybe another butterfly swooping down to take over her territory.
It didn't seem to matter to either one of them. In fact they paid no attention to each other, went on about their business. Peace and tranquility.
Sarah Young in her book "Jesus Calling" reminded me of just how to obtain that peace and tranquility in my own life. I don't have to be a butterfly---She said, "Receive My Peace. It is My continual gift to you. The best way to receive this gift is to sit quietly in My Presence, trusting Me in every area of your life. Quietness and trust accomplish far more than you can imagine: not only in you, but also on earth and in  heaven."
So while I was distracted from my book by the butterflies, I was inspired by the peace and tranquility the "quietness" of their presence brought.
What inspires you?

I sat outside earlier and listened to a loon crying. It's such a forlorn sound. Sad, lonely, but ... something else. I'm not sure what. Yet, I know like the loon, sadness can share time with inspiration. Sadness is the opposite of glee. Both make me feel closer to God.

Beautiful post, Katt. Simply beautiful.
