Elvis Has Left the Building

I looked into the mirror yesterday and saw three more wrinkles. How did I get this old, this fast?
No, it's not really about Elvis leaving the building, but life just seems to be racing at a high rate of speed.
My Grandmother used to tell me, "you know, she's not always going to be that cute." I don't remember who she was talking about, because she said it a lot. I think to drive home a point, that inner beauty was more important than the face staring back at you in the mirror.
Aging is a natural process. Wrinkles and gray hair seem to come with it.
I'm happy I'm no longer sixteen or even twenty. I've learned so much on this journey I've been on.
Tomorrow when I find another wrinkle, I'm going to celebrate. My youth has "left the building", I'm hoping it has moved to my heart.
My perspective on life has also changed. I'm able to recognize the things that are important and the things I need to let go.
Proverbs 31:30 Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.

We no longer have mirrors in our home - which makes shavng an adventure, & sometmes downright dangerous.

Seriously - Gettin' wrinkles - To quote the Cowardly Lion - "Ain't it the truth - Ain't it the truth." I've taken to usin' flesh colored silicon caulk every mornin'. Soon I'll hafta to stop at the body n' fender shop for a case of "Bondo".

Yep - Yesterday me n' Deb were teenagers - both with thick shoulder length blonde hair (& I had a really weak Amish-like beard). Amazingly, Deb still has thick blonde hair - me, well, you can do miracles with spray painted astroturf n' a spot of glue 'round the edges.

Hope you're well, Katt. And you're on the money - it's all about the inner beauty ... & rememberin' what yer grandma toldja. And I'd never wanna go back to bein' 16, or 20 - though Deb's still in her 20s. BTW - She LOVED this post.

Dave,
You still make me laugh! As I've aged the hair on my head has gotten thinner, and the hair on my face, well, I'm not gonna go there!
Smooches to you and Deb!
Love ya both
Katt

BTW - Regular naps prevent old age, especially if you take them while driving.

Dave,
Taking a nap while driving could be a cure for lots of things!
Deb, keep an eye on him!
