My Precious friend, Diana

I had the privilege of spending a few hours with a special girlfriend yesterday. I went there, thinking it was to help her develop a new blog. I scheduled two hours, between other commitments.
We have become special friends over the past few years. We were introduced by God. Yup, that's what I said. HE orchestrated our meeting, and HE has kept our hearts entwined ever since. At first I volunteered as a Chaplin at the clinic where she was the Executive Director. Later I took on the task of writing their (the clinic) story. I'm still working on that project, together with Diane.
Yesterday, we met at her house thinking we would be working on her new blog.
We shared several God Stories happening in own lives. We laughed, shed a few tears and prayed. When I looked at my watch, realizing I only had a few minutes to get to the next appointment it occurred to me we had not done what I planned to do.
I apologized to her, telling her I would come back to help, if she needed me. She said, "I know that, but I think our time together was more important."
She is a friend I can always go to for support, and special hugs of encouragement. Her faith is stronger each time I see her. I felt so refreshed and inspired by her, just being around her is like a Spring morning after the rain.
Did I mention, this precious friend of mine is facing a journey of her own? I didn't think so.
She will be having a double mastectomy next week. But yet, my precious friend gave me encouragement. In spite of surgery for cancer, she remains upbeat and happy. She chooses JOY.
I choose to be her friend forever.
Diana Furr, we all love you and are praying for you, my sister. The Lord will be with you next week as HE is now, and so, my friend will we.

I love your post. I'm praying for Diana. My friend's husband had a severe stroke last fall. As you can imagine, she has to do everything for him now, plus her own job. Two months ago they told her she has incurable cancer. We were supposed to get together today but she called to say she has to work on her day off. Yes, not only is she convinced that cancer won't interfere with her life, she's keeping her job. I think these women come into our lives for two reasons. I think one of those reasons is they make us better people. I know I'm a better person for having known you, Katt.

I feel the same way about you Joy. You are the one constant in my life. You are always there to encourage and inspire me.
In fact, you were the one we all counted on when we blogged together----I really miss you girlfriend!
Hugs and many blessings
Love you
