SNOW DAY

A friend called a few days ago asking me if I missed the snow? I thought about the beautiful white flakes drifting towards the ground.

The icy cold air swirling around my neck, chilling my face and my body to the bone. And I remember shoveling snow to the end of the driveway only to have the county snowplow fly by blocking the driveway again.

And then I remember, getting in the car, starting it so the windows could clear the snow before I even attempted to pull out of the driveway.
Yes, I miss the snow.
Okay, it's over now.

Now that's just downright mean! (But what gorgeous photos.) Does it count that I have snowdrops blooming in my otherwise winter-weary garden?

Carol,
I remember so many days shoveling snow. I lived on a State highway and it never failed---I shoveled all the way to the road, went back inside to change my clothes and get ready for work. Come back outside, got in the car, only to find the end of the driveway FULL of snow again.
What are snowdrops?

I missed your question about the snowdrops. They are one of the earliest spring bulbs to bloom here... usually will even thrust their tiny nodding white bells through even a crust of snow if they have to. I'll post a photo on the Flickr spot of my blog's sidebar. :)
