THE CALVARY S HERE

I believe God puts people or situations in our lives when we need them. When we need help.
There have been many times in my own life that has happened and I was either too involved or upset, or feeling sorry for myself to realize the Calvary was already there.
Oswald Chambers, the Scottish author of 'My Utmost for His Highest', said, "Self-pity is of the devil, if I go off on that line, I cannot be used by God for His purposes in this world."
So how do we really know?
There's a commercial I see sometimes on TV, that shows a green line, like a ribbon flowing down the road. According to the advertisement if you stay on the "green line" you'll be on the right track.
Wouldn't it be great if life was that easy? Just follow the green line?
If I had my life to live over one of the things I would have done is pray about everything. I used to just pray about the "big" stuff. Now, I realize I should have prayed about everything.
Every decision in my life. I don't think I would have strayed from the "green line" as often, if I had just remembered to pray.
I Thessalonians 5:17 pray without ceasing.

I don't know about that green line. I like a little more flexibility... more like Dorothy's yellow brick road. ;) Mind you, that really does require lots of prayer to be sure God's out there travelling with me, and that I'm heading in the direction He wants me to be going.

I sure do agree that "God puts people or situations in our lives when we need them." Once again, though, I need His guidance to recognize who they are!

Carol, there's no way I could stay on that "green line" either. I'm just sorry it took me so many years to realize "help" was always there, no matter what the problem.
Hope you are having the best day ever!
Hugs

I find myself not always praying about every situation I'm in too. And I wait until I get desparate! Not good:)

Terri, I know what you mean. I don't know why it took me so long to learn that lesson. Pray without ceasing!
Blessings and hugs my friend
