LEAN ON ME

This is probably a continuation of yesterday's blog about special friends. I have been trying to help a friend work on a blog. Her frustration and mine too has been that you can read the text on one computer, but not other computers. We have spent hours trying to figure out the problem. Another friend called to share the news that he got a contract for his first book. So we danced the happy dance. And still another friend, during the same day called to tell me about her precious dog Cooper. She (my friend) was diagnosed a few days ago with a lung fungus and it seemed the Vet thinks Cooper had the same thing. At first the Vet said Cooper only had allergies and left it at that. My friend called or emailed almost daily to let me know about Cooper. The Vet who suggested his ailment was nothing more than allergies was 56 miles away. Finally, Cooper got so bad, she scheduled herself a day off on this coming Monday to take Cooper to a Vet over 100 miles away from where they live. The Vet finally called a prescription to her local pharmacy for Cooper, and while she was gone, her husband stayed behind with Cooper. When my friend called me, I heard it in her voice before she said a word. I knew Cooper was gone. So last night we cried on the phone together. Another friend sent email yesterday to tell me the medical problems her elderly Mother is suffering. It made me realize even more how special friends are. How much we lean on each other. How much we love each other. We know we can call our friends when we are frustrated, celebrating, crying or just feeling sad. I feel blessed to have the friends I do. I know that each one of them will be there for me if I need them. And they seem to know that I'm always here too. We lean on each other. Do you have a special friend?

Thanks so much Joy, I'll tell her. She lives in Wyoming---out in the middle of no where. My heart aches too for her loss. He was a great dog and LOVED her!
